I was recently involved in the Climate Change Consortium of Wales’ Big Climate Debate. The debate addressed the question, “why don’t we act on climate change?”

I recently gave a keynote address at the European Cooperation in Science and Technology Conference – Governing the Global Climate Polity. Lund, Sweden, June 2011. My paper was entitled  ‘Neuroliberal Climatic Governmentalities’ and critically explored the role of behavioural economics, psychology and neuroscience in shaping contemporary environmental policy.

Earlier this month I also presented at the Annual International Conference of the Royal Geographical Society (London). The paper, which I co-presented with my colleague Gareth Hoskins, explored the idea of Placing the Anthropocene through our research into heritage practices at major sites of mining extraction.
